GOD [EXPLETIVE DELETED]* AMERICA

The funny thing about atheists is that they dig in their heels and refuse to accept that we're not in this alone, and then when they're in danger or on their death beds they pray to God just in case.

We haven't heard from the Freedom from Religion Foundation in quite a while, but trust me, they're doing whatever it takes to make sure God isn't mentioned anywhere at anytime in the United States of America.

The organization filed a lawsuit this week in an attempt to keep an architect from engraving "In God We Trust" and the Pledge of Allegiance at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.

But here's the thing: The Democrat-led U.S. Congress passed resolutions this month ordering the engraving.

After all, "In God We Trust" has been our national motto for more than 50 years.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation begs to differ.

They say the engravings are equal to discrimination against those who do not have Judeo-Christian beliefs.

Ah, shut up.

* "Bless" must certainly be an expletive to atheists.

Well, if they don't like handling any money with the words "In God We Trust", then I guess they shouldn't use the money.

The phrase "In God We Trust" was placed on US coinage during the Civil War.

Most people have no trouble with that-atheists included.

There are always fanatics on both sides of the coin: religious and non-religious.

I'm very curious how you know that atheists pray to God when they're in danger or on their death beds?

Do you have data to support that opinion? Or are you godlike in knowing what everyone is saying or doing in their hours of desperation?

PS. I say "God Bless You" whenever I hear someone sneeze.

Both In God We Trust" and the Pledge of Allegiance are objectionable to this group?

Now, I know several atheists. The "quiet" ones I respect. The rabid and militant ones I don't.

In my view, the rabid ones are so crazed because in their hearts they have a lot of doubts as to their lack of faith.

Whatever good America has done, it has done in its own interest, not God's interest.
We committed genocide (mass murder) against the natives that lived here for 15,000 years before we came here.
We practiced, encouraged, and made slavery legal, for hundreds of years.
We have discriminated against every minority from Asians to gays.
We have held women as second class citizens until recently.
The list of our "mistakes" is long.
I like to think God would not have approved of any of these hate filled acts towards our fellow human beings.
It is a stretch of our ego to think that our behavior is supported by God.
One does not have to be an Atheist to disagree with the idea that God should be used as our spokesperson, or that God judges America morally superior to peoples of other lands.
If we "trust in God" then we should have followed his laws and morality more closely.

As usual,Time, we are guilty. We are an imperfect people striving to be what God wants us to be. We are a fallen people. Because of our errors, we are not entitled to call upon Him and say that we do Trust in Him? I just do not get it.
In all we have done "wrong" we do not murder people for their sexual preference. We may not like it, but we do not murder them. We do not make women hide behind viels, nor do we circumcise them so only the man can receive pleasure from sexual encounters. We do not forbid women from going to school and receiving a higher education. We do not behead people we disagree with. The list goes on and on, all in the name of allah. I think I would, in all of my imperfections, trust in God.

Yes, we are guilty.

We are guilty of NOT putting our "trust in God" but in fulfilling our own greedy, selfish, wants and breaking God's law in the process.

As if America could survive without Judeo-Christian ethos.
Please check my blog and see who Obama's bringing into this country and who he's NOT bringing into this country, Pas...BOY, does it make me MAD.
I'm so glad you covered this......I wish more Americans were hearing the truth from our media...They SURE ARE NOT.
no wonder they'd like to shut down talk radio and the blogs...very dangerous to the leftwingers ...

I still haven't seen any public notification on CNN, MSNBC, etc. of the new Muslim Envoy Obama named late one Friday afternoon ,have YOU?

I happen to agree with some of what Time said, but his comments are somewhat warpped.

For instance, it is well known that Native Americans (of which I am one, having been born in America), also known as Indians, never, ever attacked any peaceful immigrants from Europe. They never, ever took any scalps. They never ever fought each other.

We did it all to them.

But I do understand his point that we have not lived up to our National Motto or our Pledge of Allegience.

They remain ideals toward which we must constantly, if fruitlessly, strive.

I will barter with chickens before i would accept coins minted without "In God We Trust".

We as a pro-infanticide nation, certainly have travelled at warp speed away from God's ideals. Good answer Gramma 2.

Excellent point by Christian Soldier! I'd forgotten that little tidbit.

Linguistically speaking, the word the man used was a verb, not an expletive. No one would say 'God bless America' has an embedded expletive. Bless is used as a verb, just as the word you omitted.

An expletive is something one expletes, such as "Wow." Less often, in older writings, the word explete is used instead of explain. Not anymore.

By the way, Please, May God bless America, for in God we trust.

Joe,

I don't understand why you say my thinking is warped?

Your point, is my point. We did it to them.

The founding fathers fostered slavery, even in the face of their good words.

Our goal is to live up to the founding fathers good words, and the good words we have spoken and written since.

More than "God bless America", or "In God We Trust" we should pray for "God's guidance" to help us be better, fulfill our good words, and treat all human beings better, not only by our laws, but personally.

Thanks for stopping by, anyway. Come back soon.

PCC - I read today about people that are getting their baptism
reversed - so that they don't have to be associated with God anymore. I don't know how people can do that. Once you know
God you always know Him. It's like saying you don't know your mother or father anymore.

Go figure.
