Call me callous.
Call me cynical.
But when a U.S.-born military psychiatrist of Palestinian descent can't follow the advice he gives soldiers for managing the unimaginable stresses of war, and therefore he opens fire at his military base and kills 13 people, I have to wonder what's going on here.
Depending on which news source you follow, it was because of religious persecution, or because he felt harassed by police who investigated his Internet postings justifying suicide bombings, or because he got a bad performance review, or because he didn't want to be redeployed.
The fact is that, no matter what his motive, his indiscriminate violence was the evil act of flat-out coward.
He should have turned the gun on himself in the first place and saved everybody indescribable grief.
Somebody would have had the unfortunate task of mopping up Nidal Malik Hasan's blood and brain matter, but that's nothing compared to the actual outcome.
And now the Lib blogs are waving their gun-control banners again.
This has nothing to do with guns, you idiots.
Do you really think that if you had gotten your way and guns were outlawed, that this psycho wouldn't have found some other way to destroy innocent lives?
Grow up, stop hiding behind your fourth-grade logic and get over yourselves.
God bless the families of the innocent victims murdered at Fort Hood by Dr. Hasan.

It's useless to reason with the left. When you are convinced that 2+2=3.764 then your math, no matter how logically followed is going to be all wrong. The left starts with a false premise (actually several false premises) and until that premise is destroyed all their conclusions will be wrong.

I need to do some reading up on this cuz I'm confused why it took civilian police to take this nut down... Is the military base a gun-free zone? They need MORE guns to react to the looneys, not less.
DaBlade, I was wondering about that too, but the general said that normally the soldiers don't carry guns on the base. Only the MP's carry. I'm so thankful that lady cop was there.
What a tragedy, and it will be perpetuated if he is allowed to 'get off' because of religious persecution, or whatever. He needs to be court martialed and executed.
I'm sick of seeing that Hasan guys mug everywhere, he is just a loser plain and simple. Coward indeed! He KNEW that most people in that room could not be armed.

How did this guy rise to the rank of Major in the meritocracy that is the military? Is the military going affirmative action too?
What I found unusual about the case is that in most of these massacres the gunman eventually turns the gun on himself but Hasan didn't even do that and you put a couple of other things together and it was a terrorist attack plain and simple.
I just read on World Net Daily that this whacko served on "O's" transition team with Homeland Security. Great place to have him, no? Wonder how many Homeland Security secrets were sent to Osama?
Don't anyone jump to conclusions though, this was just a man who was overcome by racial bigotry and PTS.
As a freckle faced, red headed Irish girl, I received many racial comments in my lifetime. I never killed anyone though. Come to think of it, there was this one boy...wonder what ever happened to him?
A little off topic but are you noticing that the "he did it because he didn't want to be deployed" stories are not blaming Obama for his deployment? Think they would be reporting this the same way if it were a year ago?
You know your title says "don't blame the guns" but you know liberals always look for someone or something to blame when things go wrong, they never think of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY (heaven forbid!)
